FecalSwab® preserves collected specimens for 48h at room temperature or 72h at refrigerated temperature.9
FecalSwab® can be used by medical staff to transfer a small quantity of sample from the primary stool collection container, or to directly collect a rectal swab.5, 6, 7
FecalSwab® is a compact alternative compared with traditional, bulky fecal containers.
Stool samples are easily processed on automated specimen processors, and automatic pipettors minimizing manual handling and mess and maximizing investment in automation.
FecalSwab® meets FDA clearance as a collection and transport system suitable for enteric pathogen recovery using traditional bacteriology culture. FecalSwab® is also in full compliance with CLSI M40-A2.9
FecalSwab® is available with two collection devices: a standard flocked swab for easy transfer from a primary stool sample and a specialized flocked swab with stopper for the collection of rectal, perianal and fecal samples.5, 6, 7
Pediatric sample collection is simplified using safe rectal flocked swab rather than stool taken from a diaper, which contain material that may cause interference in some tests.5, 8
